Artist Statement
Barbra Mohan
Music gets me through, puts me here and now, and keeps bringing joy.
I write songs and instrumental works because there are so many stories to tell – of grand adventures, enduring love, and a boy who left too soon. Music comes to me in my dreams and adds colour to the world when I’m awake.
I play and teach piano, violin (fiddle), percussion and I sing. I enjoy writing lyrics, melodies and harmonies. I will work in any genre.
But most of all I love creating and performing with others – no solo! – because nothing I do by myself comes close to what we can do together.
